Recommendations

There's little one can do in the world without great people around who have influenced you along the way.  Below are some recommendations from just a few who have made an impact on my path.

"When she sings, she makes a lyric her own. For a
student her age she has impressive technique and natural ability. She does the work and is able to
delve into a lyric and make it personal as though the words are her own and not given to her by a
lyricist."

"Abby came to rehearsals with a good attitude and gave 100% to learning her role. She stepped outside her comfort zone and learned some tap choreography. She was willing to rise to new challenges.

Abby was particularly helpful with the younger members of the cast, encouraging them and assisting them with costumes, entrances, etc. She was a well-loved mentor and example to them."

"I’ve watched Abby blossom into an ambitious and gregarious individual with many accomplishments
under her belt. Though Abby’s talent was evident at a young age, she has continually impressed me with her dedication and hard work. In addition, Abby is a great team member, team leader and example to her peers. She is simply “one of the best!”

"Abby was able to share her expertise with the children at the art camps. She was so gentle with the little ones as she helped them create their own works of art. Her energy, attention to detail, and love of the arts captivated the students as well as the parents."

Conclusion Statement

Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. -Plato

Theatre, music, and art shape the way I view the world and how I find my place in it. The stage has always been a place I felt comfortable and alive. By performing and creating art I have grown as a person tremendously since beginning high school. I have been able to learn the skills and techniques behind doing the things I love. I have set goals for myself and reached them this year by earning two lead roles and getting nominated for Artist of the Year in Fine Arts by my AP Art Teacher. Through my experience as a Rosary student in the Performing Arts Pathway I will be able to take those skills I have learned and apply them to the goals I have I after graduation. In addition to my coursework, I will be able to integrate the core values of Rosary in my service to others while continuing to grow as a learner and as a believer in Christ. The experiences, classes, and concepts I learned have prepared me for my future academic and artistic pursuits. I can set goals, problem solve, and communicate effectively. All of these will help me continue to think outside the box, try things that may be out of my comfort zone, and obtain the personal and professional life I would like to have in my future. Every showcase, show, and performance were like a piece of a large, beautiful puzzle. I poured myself into each one and came out stronger, more confident and more in love with performing and art as an expression of life. When I’m out in my community I use those opportunities to share music and theatre with others to make their day brighter. I am a life-long supporter of the arts, whether I am participating or watching others perform.  I’ve come to accept, appreciate, and love the person God created me to be, above all I know he created me out of love and that gives me such a huge sense of comfort and peace. Rosary taught me about the value of sisterhood, shared traditions, and what it means to live a faith-filled life. I have made life-long friendships, found my voice, and found a strength in myself that I didn’t know I had.
